Mindful Speech

For today, observe your speech.

Notice and be aware of your words when you are speaking and writing today. Notice whether you are speaking with others in a kind, compassionate, and peaceful way. Is your inner dialogue kind, compassionate, and peaceful toward yourself? When you respond to an email be aware of your tone and how others may perceive your words? How often do you talk about others and gossip? Without judgment toward yourself, simply notice and be aware of the power of the spoken and written word.

Mindful speech is awareness of your words and their impact on others. If we are kind, compassionate and peaceful in our internal and external dialogue, our daily experience can be significantly transformed. Awareness first, then action. I encourage you, for today, to choose words that will help you be the person you want to be. Help you live a peaceful existence where the words you offer are kind and uplifting to others.

For today, try:

  • fasting from false and harmful speech

  • keeping a daily log of your reflections on your mindfulness practice.

Wishing you peace, love, and joy throughout your day,

Rebecca
